“Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labour. For, we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building ” (1 Corinthians 3:8-9)
A SMALL BEGINNING
Perth Revival Church has a unique genesis and history. It also has a history that is rooted and founded in the work of the Holy Spirit and in the Word of God. Under the leadership of Pastor James John and with few dedicated believers, Perth Revival Church was formed on June 1, 2008 at Pastor’s residence.
The church was formed to provide Christian fellowship for those of similar Pentecostal faith. The aim of the church is to propagate the gospel of Jesus Christ and to bring revival among the Christians, mainly to those who came from our own land. The group led by Pastor James John, filed for incorporation and in February 2, 2009 the group was recognized by the State of Western Australia as PERTH REVIVAL CHURCH INC.
GROWTH
Through the boundless grace of God, our church has experienced remarkable growth and has become a beacon of blessing for many. Initially, we gathered in rented facilities scattered across various locations. However, through the abundant grace of our Almighty God, we now gather for Sunday worship in our very own church facility located at 4 Old Maida Vale Rd, Maida Vale.
What sets our church apart is not just our physical space, but the warm and welcoming atmosphere fostered by our believers. Here, amidst a loving and homely environment, we form a unique extended family bonded together by the eternal love of Jesus Christ. Regardless of age, everyone finds a sense of ease and belonging within our congregation.
At Perth Revival Church, we hold steadfast to our Pentecostal faith, uncompromisingly proclaiming the unadulterated Word of God. It is through our unwavering faith and biblical teachings that we equip believers to navigate the challenges of this material world with resilience and hope. Also as stewards of this faith, we pledge and thrive hard to pass this faith on to future generations as well.
Our Associations
We give value, respect and honour to other churches/organizations that follow the same or similar tenets of faith (Romans 13:7). We act as a completely independent church/non-profitable organization as per the word of God and under the Act of the State of Western Australia.Perth Revival Church is associated with the Australian Christian Churches (ACC), which was formerly The Assemblies of God in Australia until 2007.
AUSTRALIAN CHRISTIAN CHURCHES is a movement of Pentecostal Churches in voluntary cooperation. Each individual church is self-governing, but commits itself to work together with other churches in the movement for the purpose of mutual support and the spread of the gospel in Australia and the world. In ACC churches you’ll find vibrant, contemporary Christians who love the Lord Jesus Christ and express that love in lively praise and worship and in caring relationships. Australian Christian Churches people are Bible-loving, evangelical and Pentecostal. Pastor Wayne Alcorn was elected the new National President by the National Conference in April 2009. Today, the ACC represents over 100 local and approximately 1,100 churches nationally with more than 250,000 believers across Australia.
Our Vision
PERTH REVIVAL CHURCH is a body of individually gifted believers all serving together in loving unity, with a total reliance on the Holy Spirit under the headship of Christ.
Perth Revival Church is one of the first Indian Pentecostal church established in Perth, extending its services to the Indian, Asian, and other global communities. In our vision, we embrace every individual who is drawn to our church with open arms, irrespective of language barriers or the shadows of their past. For we believe that each person is a precious eternal soul, cherished and redeemed through the sacrifice of Christ.
We envision our church as a nurturing ground, where a new generation of church leaders, apostles, and evangelists is being raised up and sent out. These individuals are anointed by the Holy Spirit and firmly rooted in the Word of God, equipping them to lead God’s people into the future with prophetic insight and divine wisdom.
In our vision, we behold a church deeply devoted to prayer and prophetic intercession, recognizing the profound impact of the spiritual realm on the physical. We understand that the transformation of an individual’s life is a miraculous work of God. The church we envision is fervently driven by a passion to reach the lost and extend God’s Kingdom on Earth.
By the grace of God, we envision Perth Revival Church becoming a sanctuary for countless individuals from India and around the world. Our earnest prayer is that it will shine brightly as a beacon of hope and refuge, offering spiritual nourishment and divine guidance to all who seek solace in the presence of God and yearn for His transformative touch upon their lives.
Our Belief
Our church embraces the Holy Scriptures as the revealed will of God, the ultimate authority governing faith and conduct. With a commitment to fostering unity, it hereby affirms the following Statement of Fundamental Doctrines:
1. The Scriptures Inspired:
The Holy Bible consisting of SIXTY SIX BOOKS is the inspired Word of God, a revelation from God to man, the infallible rule of faith and conduct, and is superior to conscience and reason, but not contrary to reason. (Heb 4:12; II Pet 1:20-21; II Tim 3:15-17)
2. The One True God:
The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent, self-revealed “I AM”, and has further revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association of the Trinity as the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. (Deut 6:4; Isa 43:10-11; Matt 28:19; Mark 12:29; Matt 3:16-17; John 14:16-17)
3. Man, His Fall and Redemption:
Man was created good and upright, for God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness”. But man fell by voluntary transgression and his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. (Gen 1:26-31; 3:1-7; Rom 5:12-21)
4. The Salvation of Man:
a. Condition to Salvation: The grace of God, which bringeth salvation, hath appeared to all men through the preaching of repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ; man is saved, by the washing of regeneration, and receiving of the Holy Spirit, and being justified by grace through faith, he becomes heir of God according to the hope of eternal life.
(Luke 24:47; Rom 10:13-15; Titus 2:11, 3:5-7)
b. The Evidence of Salvation: The inward evidence to the believer of his salvation is the direct witness of the Holy Spirit. (Rom 8:16). The outward evidence to all men is a life of righteousness and true holiness. (Rom 6:22)
5. Baptism in Water:
The ordinance of baptism by a burial with Christ should be observed as commanded in the scriptures by all who have really repented and in their hearts have truly believed in Christ as Saviour and Lord. In so doing they declare to the world that they have died with Jesus and that they have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life. (Matt 28:19; Acts 10:47; Rom 6:4)
6. The Lord’s Supper:
The Lord’s Supper, consisting of the elements of bread and wine, is a memorial of His suffering and death and a prophecy of His second coming, and is enjoined for all born again believers to observe “until He comes”.
(Luke 22:17-20; I Cor 10:16-17; 11:23-32)
7. The Promise of the Father:
All believers are entitled to and should ardently expect and earnestly seek the promise of the Father, the Baptism in the Holy Spirit according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. This was the normal experience of all believers in the early Christian church. With it come the endowment of power for life and service and the bestowment of the gifts and their uses in the ministry. (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-6; I Cor12:1-31). This wonderful experience is distinct from and subsequent to the experience of the new birth. (Acts 2:38; 10:44-46; 11:14-16; 15:7-9; 19:2)
8. The Evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit:
The full consummation of the Baptism of believers in the Holy Spirit is evidenced by the initial outward sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and by the subsequent manifestation of spiritual power in public testimony and service. (Acts 1:8; 2:4, 42, 43; 10:44-46)
9. Entire Sanctification:
The Scriptures teach a life of holiness without which no man shall see God. By the power of the Holy Spirit we are able to obey the command, “be ye holy, for I am holy”. Entire sanctification is the will of God for all believers and should be earnestly pursued by walking in obedience to the Word of God. (Rom 8:3-4; I Thes 5:23-24; I Pet 1:15, 16; I John 2:6; II Cor 7:1)
10. The Church:
The Church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfilment of her great commission. Each believer born of the Spirit is an integral part of the General Assembly and Church of the firstborn whose names are written in heaven. (Eph 1:22-23; 2:19-22; Heb 12:23)
11. The Ministry and Evangelism:
A divinely called and scripturally ordained ministry has been provided by our Lord for a twofold purpose:
a. The evangelisation of the world. (Mark 16:15-20) and
b. The edifying of the body of Christ. (Eph 4:11-13)
12. Divine Healing:
Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement and is the privilege of all believers. (Isa 53:4; Matt 8:16-17; Mark 16:18-20; James 5:14-16)
13. The Blessed Hope:
The pre-millennial Second coming of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation, together with those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord, is imminent and is the blessed hope of the Church. (Rom 8:23; I Cor 15:51-52; I Thes 4:16-18; Titus 2:13)
14. The Millennial Reign of Christ:
The revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ from heaven, the salvation of all Israel, and the millennial reign of Christ on the earth is the scriptural promise and the world’s hope. (Rom 11:25; II Thes 1:7; Rev 19:11-16; 20:1-7)
15. The Lake of Fire:
The devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, and whose name is not found in the Book of Life shall be cast into everlasting punishment: into the lake that is burning with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. (Rev 19:20; 20:10-15)
16. The New Heaven and the New Earth:
We, “according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness”. (II Pet 3:13; Rev 21:1)
